The Santa Monica Couplet is on Santa Monica Boulevard, giving the Westside a room in the brand's colors and the Kagoshima matcha that goes with them. The bananas-and-cream matcha travels intact, and the coffee side keeps the Peruvian single origin and the Brazilian, Nicaraguan and Peruvian espresso blend. Santa Monica has plenty of cafes and rather fewer with a point of view this strong, which is what makes this one worth singling out. We would use it as a stop on the way to or from the beach, because the color reads even better in that light.
