GG Coffee & Matcha

GG Coffee & Matcha is a tiny retro-bistro room on North Fairfax, semi-hidden among the streetwear stores around Fairfax and Melrose, and it pours Rocky's Matcha. It runs as a concept from the fnbgrp group, which explains why a shop this small is put together this carefully. Owner Gio checks in to see how you are getting on with your drink. The ceremonial grade comes out deep green without a trace of bitterness. The GG matcha latte is sweetened with vanilla syrup and fermented koji rice milk, a build we have not seen anywhere else, and the raspberry matcha tonic is the other one to know. Coffee comes from Madlab. Hours are eight to two Monday through Wednesday and eight to four Thursday through Sunday, seating is limited, and the room is dog friendly, so treat it as a quick and very good stop on a Fairfax loop.
