Rose Avenue puts this one within walking distance of the beach and a block or two from Abbot Kinney, which is a different context for a coffee this involved. The rotating roaster wall and seasonal builds come across unchanged. The current matcha menu carries the strawberry latte, hot and iced matcha lattes, hot and iced Military lattes, and a Matcha Tonic. It keeps shorter hours than the east-side rooms and closes earlier in the evening, so a late-afternoon plan needs checking first. We would fold this one into a day that was already heading west.
