DAMO Tea House

Damo is a woman-owned Korean tea and coffee house that opened in Koreatown in November 2022, and the Matcha Einspanner is the reason to find it. The drink arrives under cloud foam with a dusting of matcha over the top. The menu runs to Korean beverages and simple snacks, waffles with Asian flavors worked through them, and French pastries including madeleines and financiers from Brown Bag Cookies. Matcha and hojicha lattes both sit on the board. A second Damo has since opened in the Arts District, which put the einspanner in front of a very different crowd. We rate the Koreatown original for a slow afternoon when you want somewhere to sit with a book, and the Arts District room for folding into a longer walk.
